About the Summit Organizers
The Recovery Summit is a collaborative effort of three organizations. It's being co-produced by the Los Angeles County Sober Living Coalition and the Sober Living Network. The Addiction Counseling program at Loyola Marymount University is conference host, and has generously donated facilities and staff time. This has been an all-volunteer effort, made possible through a combination of a small registration fee, LMU's generous facilities and services grant, our event sponsors and individual donors. The following paragraphs will tell you a little bit about our organizations.
The Sober Living Network

The Network is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to excellence in the operation and management of sober living. The Network was founded in 1995 to provide training and assistance to a few local groups of sober living homes. Today our 480 Network affiliated homes assist over 15,000 recovering addicts and alcoholics in Southern California each year.
The Network develops health, safety, management and ethical standards that are based on decades of experience and best practices from across the country. We conduct training workshops for current and potential sober living providers throughout Southern California.
We also provide services directly to nonprofit homes serving recovering women with small children, and are establishing a formal assistance program for individuals in need of sober living, but who cannot afford the cost.

The Los Angeles County Sober Living Coalition

The Coalition is an organization of independent sober living providers who operate 300 sober living homes across Los Angeles County. The Coalition establishes standards for member homes in areas of safety, health, training and recovery support. It also ensures compliance with standards, serves as a forum for member education and assistance, and seeks recognition and respect for quality sober living.
Member homes serve all areas of the County. and offer a wide variety of accommodations. About 25% of its members are nonprofit organizations.
