Over 370 homes are certified members of a Sober Living Coalition and the Sober Living Network. Every home on our referral list receives a quality control inspection by the local County Coalition to ensure they meet health, safety, management and ethical standards.
A structured sober living home provides safe and sober housing for the recovering person who has a stable income and is active in their personal recovery program. The self-help learning process that is occurring in 12-step groups and sober living homes effectively assists most persons in recovery.
Sober living homes do not provide treatment or recovery services as defined by State ADP licensing laws. Sober living homes are also not able to provide care and supervision to severely physically and mentally disabled persons as defined by the State Community Care Licensing Law.
Recovering persons referred to sober living must meet the following requirements.
1. They must be able to take care of themselves fully on a daily basis.
2. They must be active in their own personally developed recovery program.
The Sober Living Network provides information, training, technical assistance and advocacy for developing and operating quality sober living homes. We offer these referral lines as a service to the community.
